No fear for future damages now

Meet Angélique, a 1 year 4 months old toddler living in Nyankanda Refugee Camp in Ruyigi province, part of Eastern Burundi. Angélique’s parents were becoming  concerned about her  future vision as she had a lesion in her left eye. Thankfully, they heard that a Centre is taking care of children’s vision in Bujumbura. Her mother travelled all the way to Bujumbura with the hopes of seeing someone that could prevent impairment of her child’s vision.

Dr. Patrick, an ophthalmologist from CTSOE, who took care of the child said she had an apparently benign lesion which was unlikely to seep into the eye. As the parents raised their concern about it, they decided to excise this lesion, an operation that was successfully performed.  The sample was sent to the laboratory for more investigations.
