Living in Mutimbuzi, young Laven always had a head full of stories nurtured by his love for history and geography. He dreamed of narrating them to the world as a journalist. Yet, a unilateral cataract dimmed his vision, making even reading a Herculean task.

When the doors of education seemed to close on Laven, CTSOE stepped in, partnering with CHUK and CDO. Post his successful surgery, Laven returned to his books with stories waiting to be told. His parents, watching their son’s rekindled passion, whispered thanks to the stars and to CTSOE, the miracle that changed their son’s destiny.
