Our recent RAAB survey revealed a stark inequality: women are not only more affected by avoidable blindness, but they also receive significantly fewer eye surgeries than men.
At CTSOE, with the support of Light for the World and Seva Foundation we’ve decided to act—starting in the communities themselves.
These first images show our outreach teams going door-to-door, meeting elderly women in their homes, screening them where they feel safe. Most of these women cannot reach an eye hospital alone. So we offer transport, medical confirmation in our Vision Centers, and then a fully-supported journey to our tertiary eye hospital.
This is just the beginning. We believe equity begins with access.
